Habitat: Nests on islands; found in pelagic waters.
Distribution: Breeds on islands off of Australia, New Zealand, and South America; ranges widely at sea in both the northern and southern regions of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
Field Marks: Dark above; underneath, note the silver-white coverts at the base of the primary and secondary feathers.
Nest Habits: Breeds in colonies.
Eggs: 1, white.
Incubation: Both parents incubate the egg and care for the young. Incubation lasts approximately 56 days; young are able to fly after about 100 days.
