We're liking Miss April here. Design-wise, you never know what she's gonna send down that runway. Personality -wise, she's that wry, sarcastic girl in your art class who always had the funniest put-downs said under her breath.
It's a half and half. We just about love and hate it in equal parts.
We love that she made a jacket and pants.
And we love the way she used the lace.
We DON'T love the collar/shoulder treatment, which looks like it came out of nowhere, and the huge exposed zippers on the front.
And while the pants seem well made for the most part...
We've about had our fill of the ass zippers for the week. And while the pants seem well made for the most part...
Still, it wasn't a bad entry. WAY too many zippers, but that seems to have been a group decision.
Unsurprisingly, Mondo seems to have taken a quiet back seat in the whole team dynamics thing and just got on with his work.
Another half and half.
Boy, the Piperlime shoes are AWFUL this season, aren't they?
This seems very Mondo to us. A lot of unexpected elements that somehow come together.
We really like the top. There's a lot going on but it doesn't feel overworked.
And we like that he used gold braid rather than chains. We don't LOVE gold braid but it's at least a little more military in feel. And it's not chains. Can you tell we hated the chains this week?
We also really like the pleating on the shorts. It could have come off a little "Here is my vagina!" but it was nice and subtle and made for some visual interest.
So we're thinking, "Hey, Mondo turned out an interesting look."
And then she turned around.
Okay, Lifetime? You need to release some more extra footage so we can find out who on Team Bad News Bears said, "Hey, you guys. You know what will be a really hot trend for Fall 2010? ASS ZIPPERS!" We need to now so that we can publicly shun this person.
Also, the back of that top is, to borrow a Korsism, INSANE. In fact, we can't recall a look that induced such drastically different reactions depending upon whether the wearer was facing us or not. Front? Cute! Back?
Totally unflattering and a little ugly!
